Here are some of the highlights of what we have in store for you this week (week 23)

Opening proceedings is Niko Tzoukmanis with his beautiful 2013 album ‘Hope is the Sister of Despair’. Previously only released on CD and as a download, this beautifully sultry ambient album was remastered for vinyl from the original master tapes.

Soichi Terada & Masalo’s ‘Diving Into Minds’/ ‘Double Spire’ consists of two masterful tracks that have been causing some serious ripples over the last year and will no doubt continue to do so as the festival season finally starts again this summer. We for one can’t wait!

Another winner is Theo Parrish’ new ‘Versions EP’ on Sound Signature including a new version of the modern classic ‘This Is For You’ (featuring heartbreaking vocals by Maurissa Rose) and a special edit of The Unit’s ‘Ain’t No Need’. Essential material.

Special attention for the repress of Juan Atkins, Moritz Von Oswald and Thomas Fehlmann’s groundbreaking 1992 Tresor album that includes the phenomenal ‘Jazz is the Teacher’, a classic among classics.

‘The Glitter of the City’ is an ultra-rare 1977 private press Philly jazz grail that’s now available for all through the good people at Jazzman. And that’s good news, for it is worthy of widespread recognition.

Island Times Deejay’s ‘Disco Smoking’ is the first release on the new edit label Mystical Circles and it’s pure dancefloor fire.

Four more hot funk and disco edits can be found on Mark Grusane’s new joint for Just What the World Needs. It’s just what we need right now.

Nobu-San is back with the second installment of Extra Tools, presenting a new set of deep and psychedelic techno scorchers in four assorted flavours.

Last but certainly not least is Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad’s fantastic collaboration with Brazilian legend João Donato, one of the best volumes of the trusted Jazz is Dead series so far.
